Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: We would describe ourselves as pet-industry disruptors, mile-high expectation executioners and business leaders. But the only way we can say that is because we have had great mentors, business partners, investors, amazing staff and one hell of a support system.
Q: How did you get started in your career?
A: Traveling. We ran across a concept similar to ours in Denver, Colorado. We were so surprised at how consistently busy they were and how all walks of life were patronizing it. We knew we had to bring this idea to Central Iowa.
Q: What do you love about your career?
A: The Paws & Pints membership saves people money. Unlike most of our competitors’ subscriptions and monthly dues, ours has major value. Since we opened, our members have saved over $100,000 on their dog-related services, and that’s something to be proud of!
Q: What are some guiding principles you’ve used in your career?
A: No. 1: Make an impact and give back whenever possible. The P&P offices reflect the #MAKEANIMPACT message upstairs. No. 2: “They don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” – Teddy Roosevelt. Our business is labor-heavy, and this is our No. 1 guideline when it comes to employing staff.
